OxygenOS 5.1.7 update fixes bootloader security issue in OnePlus 6

The attacker only needs the physical access of your device in order to bypass the bootloader protection measures.

Aside from the major fix, the update also brings a fix for an issue for scheduling Do Not Disturb mode on the phone, together with general bug fixes and improvements.

OnePlus is now pushing out another update to its flagship OnePlus 6.

Weighing in at under 1.5 GB, the OTA update will be rolled out to all OnePlus 6 devices in a phased manner and will come with an updated bootloader for boosting the system security, which previously gave hackers access to the phone easily. That update will include the fix for stability issues as well as all the features included in the 5.1.7 update. You'll have to wait for the rollout to achieve your OnePlus 6.

OxygenOS 5.1.7 based on Android 8.1 Oreo is now rolling out to OnePlus 6 devices in a phased manner, and will be available to download globally over the coming days.
