Banned Australian cricketer David Warner, who is now serving a one-year suspension for his role in ball-tampering scandal, is all set to make his first appearance in the Caribbean Premier League as he has signed a deal with St Lucia for the upcoming edition of the tournament.

Now he will participate in the CPL for the first time after replacing fellow Australian D'Arcy Short, who has been called up for Australia A's tour of India, in the Stars line-up.

Following his 12-month ban by Cricket Australia for the ball-tampering incident against South Africa in March, Warner has signed on for multiple Twenty20 tournaments and is also set to play grade cricket in Sydney.

This was Warner's first game in two months and the 31-year-old played some eye-catching shots, which left several spectators in awe of him.

Though CA banned them from playing worldwide and Sheffield Shield cricket, they were free to play at club level and domestic tournaments in other countries.
