"We don't like to see families separated".

Melania Trump's unannounced visit to the detention centre comes a day after President Donald Trump moved to end the practice of separating immigrant children from their parents.

The choice, her spokeswoman said, conveyed "no hidden message". Officials in charge of children have said they are not routinely provided information about how family separations occur or where a minor's parents may be.

Some of the children are being detained close to where they were detained at the border, others however have been sent as far north as NY.

Colbert pondered why the First Lady's advisers didn't bother to, you know, advise her.

The policy has led to the separation of roughly 2,000 children from their families, who are being prosecuted separately.

"It's extremely troubling that the president's executive order would require immigrant families with children to be detained indefinitely". An earlier version incorrectly stated the Trump administration was suspending prosecutions for parents of migrant children. It came following days of Trump blaming both Congress and Democrats for the policy, which was created by his administration.

"Thank you @POTUS for taking critical action ending family separation at our border", Ivanka wrote, referring to the acronym for president of the United States.

What to Expect From the OPEC Meeting
A decision to increase output could be taken even with Iran refusing to sign up, as has happened before in OPEC. Zangeneh also said on Friday OPEC would change the structure of the current deal, but did not elaborate.

First lady makes unannounced visit to Texas to see migrant children
The first lady said in a written statement after she returned to the White House that the visit had "impacted me greatly". Trump was going to visit the facilities herself, her spokeswoman said , because "she wants to see what's real".

Trump Says He'll End Family Separation Policy He Claimed He Couldn't Change
But while parents served their time in jail, their children were forced into government custody because they couldn't be jailed. President Trump has signed an executive order "about keeping families together while ensuring we have a powerful border".

Mrs. Trump left Washington wearing a green, hooded military jacket that had "I really don't care, do u?" written in graffiti-style on the back in white lettering that left the blogosphere wondering what message she was trying to send as she flew off to visit migrant children. "It's a jacket. There was no hidden message", Grisham said.

Melania Trump later visited the Upbring New Hope Children's Center, where she spoke with children and staff.

"She was going to the border, where her husband had ripped families apart and wearing a jacket that said 'I don't care.' ...she does not deserve latitude on this because she doubled-down after questions were asked", he told news network MSNBC. But it wasn't long before the first lady's controversial jacket threatened to overshadow the entire goodwill junket to the border.

Spokesperson Ms Grisham says the unannounced visit "was 100 percent her [Melania's] idea".

It has already sold out, with sales being pledged to a refugee and immigrant support service based in Texas.

The First Lady made it too easy.

Melania's press secretary, Stephanie Grisham, responded to the backlash in a statement to Us Weekly. Trump's latest executive order did not address that concern, either, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said.
