Fortnite Playground Status: When Will Private Match Come Back?

Now, in-game announcements for the Battle Royale mode for Fortnite are teasing another big event with the 'Blast Off!' tag, lending credence to weeks of rumours that this season will culminate with the launch of some kind of missile.

Since its launch and then nearly immediate shutdown, the Fortnite Playground status has been a constant question for many eager players.

The new mode of play was removed Wednesday to the chagrin of many players.

The long-awaited Playground mode notably went live earlier this week on June 27th, but then was promptly taken offline due to substantial server issues.

'We've got multiple teams working to get this mode back into your hands so you can let your imaginations run wild'.

Later Thursday night, a tweet revealed that more testing on matchmaking would be needed before releasing the mode again.

It's likely that when the developer finally gets Playground up and running, we'll see the mode extended beyond it's originally scheduled downtime thanks to the delays it's seen.

The Fortnite Playground status was presumably deemed stable and ready for release during internal testing.
