About eight months after Kevin Spacey was let go from House of Cards following sexual assault claims, former costar Robin Wright is speaking out about the shocking scandal. Shortly after, Netflix fired Spacey from House Of Cards, and executives nearly considering dropping the incredibly successful politico-drama series.

"I think we were all surprised, of course, and ultimately saddened", House of Cards star Robin Wright told Today show's Savannah Guthrie in very statesman-like responses to jettisoned co-star Kevin Spacey, fired last fall after accusations of past sexual misconduct surfaced against him. "I knew the incredible craftsman he is". The actress told "TODAY" she knew Spacey "between action and cut". "We were co-workers, really", Wright said in a clip that aired Monday morning. Kelly, who may receive his own spin-off of the series and has openly spoken about Spacey before, recalled sitting down with just Wright for the first table read of the season.

"This a year ago I think has shined a light in a new way to allow us to start a new conversation", she said. "He was so great with me", she said of Spacey.

Allegations against the 58-year-old Academy Award victor surfaced last year as a number of accusations against powerful men in the media and politics emerged as part of the #MeToo movement, which battles sexual harassment.

When asked if firing Spacey was the right movie, Wright answered, "I don't know how to comment on that". "I think it's gonna be a stunning, stunning new season".

I think in this #MeToo moment, we all need to raise our games - especially the entertainment press, which has a history of having some interviewers playing nice in return for exclusive interviews.
