Samsung launches world’s largest mobile phone factory in India

"Our Noida factory, the world's largest mobile factory, is a symbol of Samsung's strong commitment to India, and a shining example of the success of the Government's "Make in India" program", Samsung India CEO HC Hong said in a release tied to the news. The current mobile phone manufacturing unit was added in 2005.

Past year in June, Samsung has announced a massive Rs 4,915 crore investment to expand the Noida plant.

Samsung has two manufacturing plants in India, located in Noida and in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. After smartphones, they can go into building top-of-the-line products in other categories like TVs, refrigerators as advance manufacturing in India still lags behind.
