US President Donald Trump will meet British Prime Minister Theresa May and Queen Elizabeth II on a long-delayed trip to Britain next week during which he will also discuss the prospects for a UK-US free trade deal after Brexit.

The president and first lady will fly on Friday evening to Scotland.

After an overnight stay at the US ambassador's London residence, Mr Trump on Friday will join Mrs May at an undisclosed defence site to view the UK's "cutting edge military capabilities" and integrated UK-US military training, before they head to Chequers for talks.

On the first day of the visit, the prime minister will host the couple at Blenheim Palace, birthplace of Winston Churchill. Both are places where protesters can be kept out of sight and earshot.

Trump will meet the queen at Windsor Castle on Friday before traveling to Scotland for the rest of that weekend. Details as to what he will do in Scotland will be released next week.

Shortly after confirmation that he would be visiting the United Kingdom, six conservative groups who back the presidentwrote a letter urging him to skip London for fear of "major protests, crime and disorder".

But, Murray added, Khan's administration had eventually "rediscovered its sense of humour - Trump Baby will fly".

Asked whether Trump's schedule was created to keep him away from protests, a Downing Street spokesman said: 'Prime ministers frequently make use of Chequers for meetings with foreign leaders.

"They will be discussing that issue - the relationship with Russian Federation - at the meeting at Chequers", Mr. Johnson said, referring to the prime minister's ceremonial country estate in Ellesborough, about 45 miles northwest of London.

But he will spend much of his time outside London at formal events.

"No, the president is not avoiding anything", he told a press briefing. I would also say that I think the majority of British people understand the importance of the UK-US alliance.

They added that Trump Baby "can become a permanent feature of this awful Presidency, a constant, unmissable reminder of the contempt with which this embarrassment of a man is held by everyone outside of his deranged, bigoted base".

A giant Trump Baby balloon was lately given green light from London mayor to be flown close to the Parliament during Trump's visit.

Instead Donald Trump will be treated to a black-tie dinner at Blenheim Palace, lunch with Theresa May at Chequers, and a meeting with the Queen at Windsor Castle. As head of state, Her Majesty has met every US president since 1952 (amazing) - with only one exception and that's Lyndon B. Johnson. Activists are planning large demonstrations to coincide with the visit.

Asked whether May was looking forwards to hosting the U.S. president, her spokeswoman replied: "Yes".
