IHOP announced on Monday that it had officially changed its name back to the International House of Pancakes after a brief stint as IHOb, the International House of Burgers.

A month after causing an uproar by announcing it was transforming from International House of Pancakes into International House of Burgers, the restaurant chain admitted what some (including me) suspected from the start.

The chain originally hinted at a name change on Twitter at the beginning of June, as it first revealed the "IHOb" name. The giveaway is in celebration of its 60th birthday. Just as reactions were mixed to IHOP's original name change, there has also been a variety of comments with this switch back, ranging from appreciation to sass.

To honor its return to its real name - and celebrate 60 years in the pancake business - IHOP is giving away 60 cent short stacks on July 17. Hopefully no one got too attached to the alternative "IHOb" name in the process.

Or maybe we were just gullible.
