The Lakers players are excited to have a team-mate who has been to nine NBA Finals.

With championship hopes now running rampant in L.A., Pelinka and the entire Lakers organization surely are hoping James provides more unforgettable moments.

Los Angeles can collectively exhale.

"When LeBron James - a continuing MVP and National Basketball Association champion, who is playing at the highest levels of his career - chooses to join the Lakers, that represents the most important confirmation of what we are building here".

"Let's welcome #LAbron to LA the only way we know how!" a post on Blaze Pizza's Facebook page announcing the promotion stated. "We will continue forward and do all that is necessary to achieve our shared obsession of bringing banner number 17 to the world's best fans - Lakers Nation".

Four boys first to be rescued from cave after 15-day ordeal
The boys and their coach hiked more than two miles into the cave after soccer practice on June 23 . Monsoon flooding cut off their escape and prevented rescuers from finding them for nearly 10 days.

The Lakers tweeted an image of James wearing the team's purple and gold jersey with his name and number, 23, on the back and the city lights of Los Angeles in the background plus "The King has arrived" as a caption.

Yet Wright, speaking on First Things First, insists that James did not join the Lakers on the basis that he would team up with Leonard and that he is relaxed about his chances of reaching a ninth straight Finals.

Rob Pelinka is scheduled to have an official press conference on Wednesday to discuss the free agent signings.

Lakers coach Luke Walton reportedly was scheduled to meet Monday with James' former coach, Tyronn Lue, at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas to learn more about coaching the future Hall of Famer. This has brought forth a different territory for Walton to coach with James given what he brings to the table that requires a specialized type of coaching style.

James, 33, has averaged 27.2 points, 7.4 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game in 1,143 career contests.
