A video of Prince William and Duchess Catherine, both 36, and their brood entering the chapel was shared on the Kensington Palace Twitter account, which shows Catherine holding their youngest tot in her arms whilst he sleeps.

The Royal Family and Queen Elizabeth II stood on the palace balcony, looking up at the spectacle.

However neither Prince Harry nor Meghan were named among Louis' six godparents, with the honour going to Guy Pelly, who was once dubbed the "court jester", family friend Nicholas van Cutsem and William's school pal Harry Aubrey-Fletcher.

Meghan, who joined the illustrious family only in May, has not been awarded yet.

The princes, all of whom have served in some capacity in the British armed forces in the distant or recent past, were resplendent in blue RAF uniforms while the women glowed in stylish ensembles.

These mandatory hats can either by elaborate, as Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, loves to wear or simple as Meghan Markle does.

For Tuesday's event, the Duchess of Sussex donned a black A-line, long-sleeve dress with a spiral-shaped fascinator.
