"The big clubs don't close the [door] or the moment to sign a new player".

The Spaniard, who took over from Arsene Wenger in May, said Laurent Koscielny would remain his "first captain".

"This (the new contract) is one question for the player and for the club".

"Normally we are thinking about the young players, the possibility to stay with us or go on loan to another team".

Arsenal boss Unai Emery says the fight for the No. 1 goalkeeping position is wide open at the club even though he brought in Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen this summer.

Emery also downplayed reports that he's interested in reuniting with midfielder Steven N'Zonzi, who played under him at Sevilla.

"We are looking at, looking for, who are the players whose personality is the best in the dressing room".

But, Emery insisted his squad needs to be bursting at the seams with players willing to step up.

How does Croatia's 2018 team compare with the class of '98?
Pogba and France will advance to the World Cup Final on Sunday, where it'll take on the victor of Croatia vs. Last week fans were spotted partying into the night after Three Lions beat Sweden, reaching the semi-finals.

His recent injury record has been an improvement on previous years but he only made 25 Premier League appearances across his final three seasons at Arsenal.

Wilshere explained his decision to end his 17-year association with Arsenal was because he had been informed by new head coach Emery his playing time would be "significantly reduced".

"I want to know with my direct opinion, with my direct conversations with the player".

"I know him [N'Zonzi] but we didn't do movement for him", he said. I want to work with him.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Mohamed Elneny will also be competing for spots, and any combination of the four could be deployed by Emery, although Guendouzi's age and lack of top-level football could see him further down the pecking order at the start of his Arsenal career.

"He explained to me the decision is not easy for him but he wanted to chose the best option for him and every time it is with respect".

The Welshman has just a year left on his contract and Emery added: "He has the ambition I want".
