From 1997 to 2013, the NCAA required that all Final Fours take place in venues with a minimum seating capacity of 40,000 people.

The NCAA announced that Phoenix and Glendale earned the 2024 Final Four as it released the hosts for the men's basketball NCAA Tournament events from 2023 through 2026 on Monday.

Like many across the country, Debbie Johnson was glued to her screen waiting for the official statement. "We walked out of the room saying, "OK, we did everything we could do and now it's in the hands of the NCAA". "We put on a great Final Four, but this was extremely competitive". "We embraced the Final Four, and we wanted the opportunity again".

David Worlock, NCAA director of media coordination, said 2017 was a "very successful Final Four". Kinks that needed to be worked out during the preparation for '17 have been resolved.

The College Football Playoff championship also was at University of Phoenix Stadium in 2016. "We look forward to welcoming the teams and their fans to our state, which is quickly becoming the nation's No. 1 destination for major sporting events". It will seat 70,000 with expandable seating to 100,000 for mega events. L.A., Detroit and north Texas were unsuccessful in this round of Final Four bidding.

US intel chief stands by assessment of Russian meddling
Many US critics had called for the summit's cancellation after new revelations surrounding the alleged election meddling. Earlier, Trump blamed his own country's past " foolishness and stupidity " for the two powers' hostile relations.

Twitter has blocked accounts of Russian "spies"
The United States has no extradition treaty with Moscow and can't compel Russian Federation to hand over citizens. But after being given the idea by his interviewer, President Trump said: "Certainly I'll be asking about it".

Houston was among several cities vying for a Final Four appearance between 2023 and 2026. "We want to make that ease of getting out to the stadium as best as they can".

The results have been significant.

Monday's announcement was a slam-dunk for H-Town. Both events will be held at University of Phoenix Stadium, just like the Super Bowls in 2008 and 2015 and the Final Four in 2017.

The event also enriched the community in other ways. Critics, however, point to events being spread out through the Valley, Uber surge pricing, and the lack of Light Rail, something Glendale nixed again just previous year. "I think we've really kinda proven that we can do it and we're here to stay", said Johnson.
