You're advised to keep the Fortnite Installer even after you've started playing, as the installer is what keeps the game updated with new patches, not the actual game app.

As you probably know, however, the Android launch of Fortnite differs in that the game is not available on the Google Play Store.

Android users must download the game directly from Epic's own website instead.

Epic Games has begun the beta of Fortnite on Android devices, and you can sign up and get on it today.

The full list of now supported Samsung devices are below. What type of Android device you're using will determine where and how you install the game. Fortunately, after the buzz surrounding the recently-announced Samsung Galaxy Note 9 subsided a bit, Fortnite is now coming to other phones as well, though the invite-only aspect is still at play.

Interested people can head over to Fortnite's website and register for the beta version of Fortnite on Android. This decision will cause Epic to lose potential revenue from players with older devices, but Sensor Tower does not expect it to impact the game's popularity enough "as to affect its revenue potential in the long run". Other phones officially capable of handling the game include Google's Pixel and Pixel XL models, the Razer Phone, the Essential Phone, Nokia 8, and several devices from LG, Asus, Huawei, Xiaomi, and ZTE.

After that, you'll need to wait again.

Researchers add that Epic Games could be swarmed by complaints from users who want to play the game, safely download it, or are not aware of installing APKs on their phones. In fact, the loss of users will potentially be offset somewhat by players in countries without Google Play access being able download the game directly and spend money on in-game purchases. The bad news is that means an invite is still required to actually play the game, but the good news is that fans can actually pre-install the beta.

Fortnite is available now for Nintendo Switch, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
