Fortnite Patch v5.21 Released; Adds New Sniper, Modes, and More

Epic Games has rolled out yet another Fortnite patch this week, with update v5.21 introducing the powerful Heavy Sniper Rifle to Battle Royale, alongside a new Limited-Time Mode: "Soaring 50's", a twist on the standard 50 v 50 match type with an added emphasis on mobility. This weapon allows you to deliver devastating damage to enemies but, perhaps more interestingly, it can do even more damage to structures. It sounds like a beast of a weapon, though one that probably won't be appropriate for all situations. Most notably, the Heavy Sniper Rifle is making its debut in the battle royale version of the game while the minigun has seen a nerf. As is usually the case, you'll be able to find the Heavy Sniper in floor loot, chests, supply drops, and vending machines, so pretty much anywhere a gun would typically spawn. Gliders can be re-deployed when falling from large heights, and additional Impulse Grenades, Bounce Pads, and Launch Pads will be spawned throughout the map.

The second LTM added in this update is - what else?

Kicking things off with the new weapon, players will now have access to the Heavy Sniper Rifle.

Profile Stats (K/D & Wins) are not tracked in this mode.
