OnePlus will still sell an unlocked version of the OnePlus 6T, according to the report, which would work just fine on AT&T's network (or anywhere else in the world). In keeping with the price trajectory of previous OnePlus releases, the OnePlus 6T is planned to retail for $550, an increase of about $20 over the previous model.

Partnering with a carrier will likely help OnePlus boost its brand awareness in the USA where it is still not a household name. CNET reported that OnePlus 6T will launch in October and the company has raked in T-Mobile as an exclusive carrier partner for the handset in the U.S.

As with other countries - like the United Kingdom where OnePlus is partnered with O2 - the ambitious manufacturer will continue to sell phones through its own online retail store as well as selling through T-Mobile. The OnePlus 6 was declared to be merely splash proof, in its next iteration, the OnePlus 6T is expected to come with an IP67 and IP68 rating meaning that the new phone will be truly waterproof. Going all the way back to the OnePlus One in 2014, the company has always used the latest and greatest Snapdragon chip - the same chip powering phones that cost twice as much.
