Paul Pogba: our attitude was all wrong

Manchester United did not show the right attitude in their surprise Premier League defeat at Brighton, says captain Paul Pogba.

United will host Tottenham next Monday, with Mauricio Pochettino's side likely to have been encouraged by the performance of Mourinho's men on the south coast. Even a 2-1 win over Leicester on opening night did little to improve his mood.

"I thought the tempo, right from the start [was key] - we always had an outlet", he said.

Manchester United hit back after that and Lukaku scored his first goal of the season though it was far from convincing.

Bong found the underlap of Solly March sneaking behind Ashley Young who bounced a low cross along the six-yard box for Murray, a step ahead of Victor Lindelof, to dig the ball past David De Gea from close range.

"So I will be very, very happy to analyse my players' performances when they are very good".

It didn't come, but it didn't matter.

Romelu Lukaku halved the deficit 11 minutes before the break, rising unmarked to nod in Luke Shaw's ball, but Pascal Gross converted a penalty after a foul by Eric Bailly.

'Can we play you every week, ' sang the Brighton fans.

Brazil call up Andreas Pereira & Arthur but omit Man City stars
Pereira played for the Belgium under-15s, U16s and U17s before opting to represent Brazil at the U-20 World Cup in 2015. Brazil lost 1-0 to the South Americans and beat the Asians, who had made the World Cup semi-finals, 3-2.

No disrespect in City film, says Guardiola
Nearly immediately, Brighton scored their second when United failed to clear a corner. Paul Pogba brought United to within one goal thanks to his injury time penalty.

It's clear why Mourinho was desperate for a new centre-back in the transfer window.

If the United manager wanted to make his point to Ed Woodward, he need only post of video of the first half here to the chief executive's office at Old Trafford.

However, just before half-time Brighton restored their lead.

For now, Mourinho will have to make do with what he has got. Having exited Bayern Munich a year ago, Ancelotti has only been in charge at Napoli since May, so the time may not be right for him to return to the Premier League, after his stint at Chelsea between 2009 and 2011.

When United also lost on their last visit to Brighton in May, Mourinho lambasted those handed their chance to fight for a place in the FA Cup final in one of a series of public tirades against his players. Their form on their own patch will be key again is they are going to survive again and Chris Hughton could not have asked for a better start. At the end of last season a 1-0 Brighton victory against United secured their Premier League status.

Now, with Mourinho's reign at the Red Devils coming into question we pick out FOUR managers that could replace him, should he exit the Theatre Of Dreams.

"They don't come any more hard than away at Liverpool, not only with the team they've got but the recruitment they had in the summer".

Critiquing United as a team more broadly, he said that they overcomplicated the game.

"It's a 38-game season".
