Other new health and fitness features include goal-based exercise modes, enabling the user to set a goal for calories burned, distance, or duration, and see real-time stats, progress, and celebrations when they reach their goal; a new on-device dashboard to see daily activity stats and health metrics; a way for females to log their period and ovulation; and more.

While the Versa was a hit for Fitbit, the company's sales of trackers appear to have been plummeting.

First things first, it is a waterproof band, which is a big relief for those who like to take a shower with the band. The Fitbit Charge 3 also features a 24/7 PurePulse heart rate monitor with Global Positioning System support.

Fitbit has just announced the Fitbit Charge 3, the long-awaited successor to the Charge 2 that came to wrists in 2016. While the company has been foraying into the smartwatch market, it clearly has not given up on simple fitness trackers.

Jakiw Palij: US deports former Nazi camp guard living in Queens, NYC

Fitbit Charge 3 will be available in India starting November 2018 in black with a graphite aluminum case or blue gray with rose gold aluminum case. Coming to the battery life, the Fitbit Charge 3 can last up to seven days on a single charge. But with that being said, the Charge 3 has a battery that can last for nearly a week, and it's incredibly lightweight, so hey, tradeoffs. It's something we'll be investigating closely when we review the Charge 3.

There's an inductive button on the side of the Charge 3. Along with its sleek aluminium body, the most obvious change is its display, which is 40% larger than that on the Charge 2. There will also be a SpO2 (peripheral capillary oxygen saturation) sensor on the Charge 3, which can help to detect health issues such as allergies, asthma or sleep apnea.

What are the features and specs of the Fitbit Charge 3?

While you can pick up a Charge 2 for just over £100 on Amazon and other retailers, the Charge 3 is officially £10 cheaper than the Charge 2 on launch, despite all of its added features. A special-edition version - which comes with an extra band and Fitbit Pay, Fitbit's NFC payments system - will cost $169.95. At launch the selection will be limited to Fitbit's in-house stuff, and it's all super standard: alarms, weather, timers, and a calendar-you know, the functions, besides fitness tracking, that you'd actually use on a wearable. Even without Global Positioning System that's an attractive price, offering a similar package to £200 smartwatches in a slimmer, more stylish design. The tracker is now available in black with a graphite aluminum case or blue gray with a rose gold aluminum case.
