On November 7, Samsung's Developer Conference will kick off and the company will further show off its Bixby-powered speaker called Galaxy Home.

The Samsung Galaxy X is not new to the rumor section and the latest bit of information mentions that the device could take things to a new level.

The American outlet insisted DJ Koh, the head of Samsung's mobile arm, revealed the new device would be detailed by the company "later this year". Koh says that while Samsung has "nearly concluded" the development process, it's still a "complicated" process.

In an interview with CNBC, DJ Koh said Samsung's consumer research suggested there was demand for a foldable phone. However, issues like dust collection within the folds and the strength are still issues that need to be dealt with. It can be used as a tablet in its unfolded form, but it can also be used as a dual-screened smartphone once the device is bent.

"Every device, every feature, every innovation should have a meaningful message to our end-customer". What is Koh smoking that he doesn't think that that's a good idea?

Samsung is reportedly planning to unveil its foldable smartphone later this year, which is rightfully met with skepticism considering the long wait for the groundbreaking device. Until now, we have seen smartphones with triple camera sensors on the back.

Huawei, Motorola, Oppo, Xiaomi, and many other vendors are preparing to launch their own foldable phones. Furthermore, Samsung has been working on this technology for years now.

When not in use, the secondary display can be turned into a touchpad, which could see it turned into a gaming console rather like Nintendo's DS range. This is his statement following some surveys, which the tech giant carried out among its consumers.
