John Legend, victor of the award for outstanding variety special for "Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert", poses in the press room during Night 2 of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards at The Microsoft Theater on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, in Los Angeles. And as of Sunday night, he's now an EGOT victor.

Legend, along with Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, joined the elite group to have earned Hollywood's most prestigious awards - an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony - after he won Outstanding Variety Special (Live) for "Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert". But since it took them 38 years and they won them all for writing musicals, their win is less impressive than Legend's.

This makes him the 13th person to ever win at least one of each of the four aforementioned awards, but he's broken two records too.

The win propelled all three men to the rare and coveted EGOT status, the term used for someone who has won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony; prior to Sunday night, only 12 people had achieved the feat.

John achieved EGOT status alongside fellow producers Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.
