Nintendo also charged through a short list of other Final Fantasy tidbits we'd previously heard about, but the headliner was news that Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition - a mobile game we already knew was bound for the Switch - has just been made available for immediate download on the Nintendo eShop.

These are remasters of the original versions - so not the upcoming remake of Final Fantasy VII - but it will be the first time any of them have been on a Nintendo console.

Square Enix and Microsoft have announced that six new titles in the fantastic Final Fantasy franchise are finally making their way to Xbox One.

The 35-minute presentation was bookended by two major new announcements for next year: Luigi's Mansion 3 and a new Animal Crossing, and you can read about them and all the other reveals here. Also, in 2019, Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy X and X-2, and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age will all also be arriving on the platform. Also announced were Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon, which will release this winter and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered which will land in 2019.

Final Fantasy 7 is out now for PC, PS1, PS4, iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch. This version will allow you to "befriend all the monsters", as well as play co-op with a buddy.

Interesting to note is that Final Fantasy XVIII is missing from this list, and why wonder why Square Enix has chose to skip this Switch port.
