However bad you fear the situation might be inside the Trump White House, the reality is even worse, says Bob Woodward, half of the duo behind the Watergate tapes, and the author of Fear: Trump in the White House, out Tuesday.

"It was clear that Trump did not understand the way the US government debt cycle balance sheet worked", Woodward wrote.

For his part, Woodward told NBC that while the sources are anonymous, the incidents are not-he provided a date and time for each one that appeared in the book. A new book says Prime Minister Narendra Modi wanted to have dinner with Donald Trump there last June.

Mr Mattis also issued a statement, re-tweeted at least twice by Mr Trump, saying, "The contemptuous words about the president attributed to me in Woodward's book were never uttered by me or in my presence".

Porter, it should be noted, was forced to leave the White House as Trump's staff secretary, after credible allegations emerged that he had abused his ex-wives. "Woodward would have performed rudimentary journalistic fact checking with those he was quoting, he would have had a more accurate book rather than just being a stenographer for Mr. Bannon's self-aggrandizing revisionist history".

Woodward's said he won't name the official but was happy with his public statement. "So I think it's - in a sense - the wrong phrase".

A White House official has said Trump was just venting over the essay and wasn't ordering federal prosecutors to take action.

It's the end of the road for Inbox by Gmail
Fortunately, because Inbox requires a Gmail account to use, all the messages in their Inbox account are also still on Gmail. Why it matters: Inbox by Google users will be disappointed to hear that the email client is being discontinued next year.

"Cohn cited no specific objections to Woodward's extensive reporting of his private views that Trump needed to be saved from his most unsafe impulses", Axios reports.

But, the president is no stranger to women accusing him of misdeeds. At least 19 women have publicly accused Trump of kissing them, touching them inappropriately or having an affair with him while he was married.

"We're underestimating how serious all of this is", Woodward tells NPR.

Several people in Trump's orbit have called the book's accuracy into question, while Woodward has maintained several times that he stands by his reporting. And Cohn told Axios that the "book does not accurately portray my experience at the White House". People know who Woodward is. "It's a way to say you're important to this story, I take you seriously".

"Trump pivoted", Woodward writes.

Christie has rebutted Woodward's claims.

Asked later whether the White House would list all the things in Woodward's book that are wrong, Sanders said such an exercise "would be a complete and utter waste of our time, so no".
