Forecasts released Friday evening called Isaac's future "unclear", with models uncertain of if vertical wind shear that's been ripping the storm apart potentially backing off, or if Isaac will fully degenerate into a tropical wave.

"There's some uncertainty about Helene's exact track, but we can see that's it's heading towards the UK".

A tree fell on the house, killing the baby and mom, the New York Times reported. "It's possible that the west coast of Wales and Cornwall could get some winds as well, but we will get a clearer picture of what to expect very soon".

Roy Cooper, the governor of North Carolina urged people not to return home too early as major flooding is still anticipated. A 77-year-old man was apparently knocked down by the wind and died after going out to check on his hunting dogs, Lenoir County authorities said.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said Helene has 90 miles per hour winds, meaning it is a Category 1 storm.

But the real threat from Florence isn't from wind, it's from water, with the National Hurricane Center warning of "life-threatening storm surge and rainfall".

Turkey has also gathered forces on its own borders to deter Syrian civilians fleeing the fighting. Roughly half of the displaced are staying in camps, Dujarric said.

Storm Helene to unleash DAMAGING winds and TROPICAL air next week
Three feet of storm surge moving onto the coastline will result in higher tides and higher water moving onshore. However, experts remained unsure midday Wednesday where the storm would make landfall in the Carolinas.

Chequers is much worse than status quo, says Boris Johnson
He told ITV News: "I've been told that she will get a full appraisal of comments that were made over the dinner". The EU is no longer right for the UK.

Accuweather meteorologists said the storm's most likely path would take it toward the southern or central Texas coast, though they and others cautioned the forecast could change quickly.

The storm is now around 530 miles southeast of Cape Fear, North Carolina, and is moving west-northwest at 17 mph.

"Remnants of that system could bring wet weather across western parts of the United Kingdom on Tuesday and we still need to keep an eye on it".

But Isaac, which at one point was one of a trio of hurricanes swirling in the Atlantic alongside killer storm Hurricane Florence, and Hurricane Helene, is not completely done. If the rain bands persist, the National Weather Service may raise the flash flood watch to a flash flood warning triggering the emergency alert system.

North Carolina alone is forecast to get 9.6 trillion gallons (36 trillion litres), enough to cover the Tar Heel state to a depth of about 10 inches (25 centimetres).

Heavy rain and gales are predicted in western regions of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
