Paul Manafort Has Reportedly Agreed ‘Tentatively’ to Deal with Mueller’s Office

Special counsel Robert Mueller and former Trump campaign Paul Manafort have reached what ABC News is describing as a "tentative" plea deal to avert his upcoming trial in D.C., the network reported Thursday based on sources familiar with the negotiations.

It remains unclear if the deal will include Manafort cooperating with Special Counsel Robert Mueller's probe into Russian interference in the 2016 United States presidential election and possible collusion with the Trump campaign.

Manafort lawyer Kevin Downing and Mueller spokesman Peter Carr declined to comment on the ABC report.

Manafort was convicted last month at trial in Alexandria, Virginia, of charges including bank and tax fraud.

If Manafort simply pleads guilty and makes clear that he hasn't given evidence to the government, that could increase his favor with President Trump, who already has lamented what he has called Manafort's unfair treatment by the Justice Department.

Prosecutors have said Manafort and Kilimnik conspired to tamper with witnesses, an allegation that later led in June to US District Court Judge for the District of Columbia Amy Berman Jackson revoking Manafort's bail and ordering him jailed.

No-deal Brexit could bring driving licence ramifications
Last month the government published 24 no-deal documents covering industries including medicine, finance and farming. Yet there is a long way to go until Dominic Raab, or anyone in government, can be sure.

SpaceX gets first private passenger for moon trip
On Twitter, Elon Musk was asked who the passenger is and simply responded with an emoji of the Japanese flag . SpaceX has announced plans to take a passenger on the first ever tourist expedition around the moon.

None of the charges against Manafort related to collusion with Russian Federation.

Manafort's plea deal follows agreements that Mueller's team had already reached with Trump's former national security adviser Michael Flynn and Manafort's former deputy Rick Gates.

A move by Manafort to cooperate could be a blow to Trump, while an outright guilty plea with no cooperation would resolve a cloud over the president ahead of congressional elections in less than two months. A prosecutor who secured convictions against him in Virginia and works with the US Attorney's Office there - not the special counsel's office - was also there Thursday, meaning that others outside his DC trial are still working on the case.

News of the agreement comes the same month as Manafort's second trial is set to begin. Trump has not said whether or not he would pardon Manafort, but he has not publicly ruled it out. In ruling against Manafort's request for a change of venue, Jackson said she could reconsider if they are unable to qualify enough jurors to proceed to jury selection in the case, scheduled to begin September 17.

"Once again an investigation has concluded with a plea having nothing to do with President Trump or the Trump campaign", Trump's attorney, Rudy Giuliani, said Friday.
