Grassley Releases New Letter From Blasey Ford

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., who sits on the judiciary committee, said in a Fox News Sunday interview that Ford's testimony was unlikely to change his mind, the Post reports.

The New Yorker magazine reported late Sunday that two US senators are investigating a woman's charge that Kavanaugh exposed himself at a Yale University dormitory party during the 1983-1984 academic year.

Grassley's stance reflected a desire by President Donald Trump and GOP leaders to usher the 53-year-old Kavanaugh onto the high court by the October 1 start of its new session and before the November elections, when Democrats are mounting a robust drive to grab congressional control.

The New Yorker on Sunday published an accusation from a second woman, who said Kavanaugh exposed himself and forced her to touch his genitals while both were at Yale. "For people to come out of the woodwork from 36 years ago, from 30 years ago, and never mention it, and all of a sudden it happens-in my opinion, it's totally political".

"There's a chance that this could be one of the single most unfair, unjust things to happen to a candidate but I am with Judge Kavanaugh", Trump said in NY. A smear campaign, pure and simple.

President Donald Trump was told about the New Yorker allegations hours before the piece's explosive publication, according to a White House official.

White House spokesperson Kerri Kupec called the accusation a "coordinated smear campaign by the Democrats created to tear down a good man". I hope that we can find such a setting and that you will understand that I have one motivation in coming forward - to tell the truth about what Mr. Kavanaugh and his friend Mark Judge did to me.

Kavanaugh denied the allegation under oath and under penalty of felony shortly after the accusation was made public.

Christine Blasey Ford says Kavanaugh held her down, covered her mouth and tried to remove her clothes during a party when they were in high school.

The Swiss maestro was barely ruffled as he cruised to a 6-3, 6-2 win over Kyrgios, showcasing his casual brilliance right on cue. Sock, Nick Kyrgios , John Isner , Tiafoe, Kevin Anderson and Diego Schwartzman are representing Team World.

The tentative accord could close days of brinkmanship over whether Ford would testify.

"It's important to me that you personally know how honest and thorough this effort has been, including my commitment to make sure committee members and other senators are able to hear directly from you", Grassley wrote.

Ford's accusations and the tense standoff over the terms of her appearance have left the appellate court judge's confirmation to the high court in jeopardy. Senate Republicans should stand up to these unsubstantiated and discredited allegations and move forward with a vote to confirm Kavanaugh.

Her lawyers' letter to the committee's GOP majority was released just at Saturday deadline set by the chairman, Iowa Republican Sen.

Moreover, a person who has committed sexual assault should not serve on the Supreme Court.

Kavanaugh will also address the committee on Thursday, the newspapers report.

Joining the maelstrom, Michael Avenatti, the attorney representing porn actress Stormy Daniels in her legal fight with Trump, claimed to represent a woman with information about high school-era parties attended by Kavanaugh and urged the Senate to investigate. And I think it's important that the senators who are on the Judiciary Committee and all of the senators who are charged with advising and consenting to any nomination take our time, take this seriously and show the American people that we can treat credibly and respectfully allegations of sexual assault.
