Bill Nelson will vote no on Kavanaugh nomination

The network reports that Senate Judiciary Committee investigators placed a call to Kavanaugh about the accusations on September 25 and he denied the encounter.

Kellyanne Conway, a counselor to President Trump, told "CBS This Morning" Friday that she found Ford's testimony "compelling" and "very sympathetic". She said she came forward not for political reasons, but because it was her "civic duty".

White House officials believe Kavanaugh's passionate denials of Ford's claims, including the judge's tearful description of the impact the accusations had on his family, met the challenge.

Both Democrats and Republicans were on the call but on the latter party were allowed to ask questions.

The sender of the complaint described an evening apparently involving Kavanaugh, her own daughter and several friends in 1998.

Kavanaugh testified immediately after Ford on Thursday, forcefully denying the allegations and saying they have "destroyed my family and my good name".

The ABA went on to say that any appointment to the Supreme Court is "simply too important to rush to a vote".

"That's a lot of wisdom from a 10-year-old", he said, choking up. Echoing Ford, he said he was "100 percent certain" he did not commit the assault.

Her voice often filled with emotion, Ford for the first time on Thursday detailed her accusations against Kavanaugh. When Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota asked if he ever drank so much he blacked out, he snapped, "Have you?"

Manchin was among a handful of Democrats from red and purple states that Kavanaugh supporters were targeting as possible votes. Ford said in the summer of 1982, when she was 15, she attended a small house party with four boys and one other girl.

Chuck Schumer Says There's No 'Presumption Of Innocence' For Brett Kavanaugh
He said he viewed such accusations "differently" because he had "had a lot of false charges made against me". Nevertheless, not one of them has suggested that anyone should believe the Supreme Court nominee's denials.

After hearing more than 30 hours of testimony from Judge Kavanaugh earlier this month, I was prepared to support his nomination based on his view of the law and his record as a judge.

What happened to the prosecutor?

She told the committee she feared Kavanaugh would rape and accidentally kill her during the alleged assault. Then she quickly faded away.

Trump has also told allies that he wished Kavanaugh's Fox News interview Monday had gone better, believing it was a missed opportunity to change the momentum around the story, according to the two Republicans and another outside adviser. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., led the way with a scorching denunciation of Democrats for raising the allegations against Kavanaugh in the final days of the confirmation process. "You're telling me that my assault doesn't matter".

He said: "I will not be intimidated into withdrawing from this process".

Meanwhile, Sen. Bob Corker, who like Flake isn't running for re-election, said he'll be voting to confirm Kavanaugh.

Republicans' margin for error in the full Senate is slim.

What is different this time is that this nomination battle is no longer purely about predicting the likely outcome of Judge Kavanaugh's vote on the court.

Flake did not address the two women's questions directly, but said, "thank you". Lisa Murkowski are seen as the crucial swing votes as Republicans only have room for one dissenter if Democrats are united against Kavanaugh.
