Grassley says Judiciary Committee wouldn't consider Supreme Court vacancy in 2020

The second, filed September 27, claims Kavanaugh violated the judiciary's code of conduct by 'engaging in a public and partisan campaign of lies to cover-up and hide sexual misconduct and crimes he committed in the past'. He was sworn in on Saturday by Chief Justice John Roberts and former associate justice Anthony Kennedy, for whom he clerked 25 years ago.

It is unclear what will come of the review by the 10th Circuit.

Fresh off the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, questions arose about what Republicans might do if another vacancy opens on the court in 2020 - and Republican leadership doesn't agree on what they'd do in that situation.

The complaints relate to testimony that Kavanaugh gave last month during his confirmation hearings, according to a source familiar, and do not pertain to his conduct as a sitting judge.

Discipline under those rules could have ranged from Kavanaugh getting a private talking-to by the chief judge on his circuit -Garland - to a suspension from hearing cases and even to a referral to the House of Representatives for possible impeachment proceedings.

Kavanaugh remains a federal judge and the complaints "allege misconduct that occurred while Kavanaugh was on the D.C. Circuit and subject to the Code of Conduct for U.S. Judges".

Roberts' letter was sent to Judge Timothy Tymkovich, the 10th Circuit's chief judge.
