Trump added that West could "speak for me any time he wants".

Rapper Kanye West shows President Donald Trump his mobile phone during a meeting in the Oval Office at the White House in Washington, U.S., October 11, 2018.

"Thank you to Kanye West and the fact that he is willing to tell the TRUTH", Mr. Trump tweeted in August.

Rapper Kanye West, with a stream of consciousness speech in the Oval Office and a burst of profanity, defended his support for President Donald Trump on Thursday, to the great delight of Trump himself. "That was quite something".

News. But it seems like both Trump and West veered more than slightly off-topic.

Kanye - who last month announced he had changed his stage name to "Ye" - was visiting the White House to have lunch with the President and discuss issues he feels are most important to African Americans.

West, a long-time Trump supporter, also decried the allegedly widespread expectation that black people should be Democrats.

"He's a very different kind of a guy, I say that in a positive way", President Trump gushed during an interview on Fox. "But I'm having dinner with him Wednesday night and I've been very happy with our relationship", Rorsted said.

"Trump is on his hero's journey", West said. "He gets it." He also joked that he could be a good presidential candidate to which Kanye responded, "Only after 2024".

"We'll get rid of Air Force One", Mr. Trump replied.

"He might not expect to have a insane motherf***r like Kanye West support him", West told those in the Oval Office. "We are one country".

Trump's "Make America Great Again" slogan, on the other hand, he claimed, makes him feel like a testosterone sufficient superhero who would play catch with his son.

Mr. West's wife, reality star Kim Kardashian, also has met with the president, pushing for clemency for a grandmother who was serving a lengthy prison sentence for a relatively minor drug charge.

Mr. West interrupted, saying, "I love this guy". West then threw all etiquette and protocol out the window, laying down the F bomb in the Oval Office, in a rant that was being broadcast live across numerous media outlets.
