Le’Veon Bell Keeping Steelers In Dark; Trade Still On Table

Reports originally indicated that Bell would join the team at some point during its week off, meaning he has the whole week to show up.

Further complicating matters is that Pittsburgh has a bye in Week 7, which means Bell may not be in any rush to come back.

Sources told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler earlier this month that Bell meant to report to the Steelers during the Week 7-8 time frame.

Bell could return any time between Monday and the following Monday, Oct. 22.

This runs counter to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler report last week that Bell would show up.

Bell, who previously claimed he would return during the Steelers bye week, which they are on right now, did not report to the Steelers on Monday after Pittsburgh toppled the Bengals in a massive divisional victory.

Le'Veon Bell's relationship with the Pittsburgh Steelers has been an ongoing headline all season. That would put him out for almost half the season. It is well-known the 26-year-old star wants a lucrative contract in free agency this off-season, and the Steelers seem unlikely to give it to him.

Bell has been holding out and has missed the first five games of the season after the Steelers placed the franchise tag on him for the second straight year.

Not only did he not report, but he has no plans to report. Bell has talked to no one, and has been seen by no one.

Maybe he rolls in at 4:01 p.m. ET Tuesday, Oct. 30, after the trade deadline has passed.
