Hong Kong - China's number one Wang Qiang staged an outstanding comeback Saturday to defeat former Wimbledon champion Garbine Muguruza 6-7 (5/7), 6-4, 7-5 and reach her first Hong Kong Open final.

Fifth-seeded Italian Camila Giorgi won her second career title, beating Russian qualifier Ekaterina Alexandrova 6-3, 6-1 in the final in Linz, Austria.

Her semifinal opponent will be Taiwanese No. 5 seed Su-Wei Hsieh, who also won by default when third-seeded Belgian Elise Mertens retired while trailing 6-2, 4-0.

She added: "It was a really bad performance from me so I was very disappointed that I couldn't play even 20 percent of the game that I can play".

Yastremska, the current world No. 102, becomes only the second teenager to win a WTA singles title this season, following Olga Danilovic's success in Moscow in July. When the score was 0:4 Wang Qiang tried to get back in the game but to stop a young Ukrainian woman today, she was not able to do.

"But if before the match you think it s going to be really hard you up your focus, and when you go on court you stay more dedicated to each point, that s what helped me to stay that calm during the whole match". "I probably still feel that I'm confident with my game and with my experience and with my level", Muguruza said at the China Open.

The 18-year-old - who earlier this year became the first player born this millennium to break into the WTA top 100 rankings - appeared overwhelmed after the win, lying on her back in Centre Court to soak up the cheers of the crowd.

In the final four, Wang twice led by an early break in the first set, but was unable to keep her lead and had to battle from behind for the first time this week. She's now not entered, but could request a main draw wild card.

In the day's other match, Ukraine's Dayana Yastremska dispatched Slovakian Kristina Kucova 7-6 (6), 6-2 to earn a semifinal matchup with Zhang.
