Hazard reveals details about Sarri chat upon Chelsea appointment

Maurizio Sarri has told Eden Hazard he does not have to leave Chelsea to win the Ballon d'Or after the Belgian once again expressed his desire to join Real Madrid.

It was put to Hazard on Belgium duty that every Ballon d'Or victor since 2008 has played in Spain, and he jokingly replied that he wants to join Madrid to put himself in position to be regarded as the world's best player.

The forward has suggested his best chance of being crowned the best player in the world would be improved by a move to Madrid but stressed he would not risk damaging his relationship with Chelsea to force a transfer.

'Of course Eden for us he is a fantastic player, ' Sarri said. "It will be important for us if he remains with us".

'Also, I think he can win everything without playing in Spain.

Chelsea and Hazard have a tough weekend ahead as Manchester United travel to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

'I don't know what to say, ' chuckled the Italian.

"I am happy here, with this club and this team".

And the Belgium global, who has won the Premier League twice with Chelsea, is even contemplating the possibility of staying at Stamford Bridge for the remainder of his career.

United are in the midst of a hard spell, while Chelsea are defending an unbeaten start to their campaign.

"He's not only a great footballer but I think he's a wonderful lad".

Chelsea FC were 3-0 winners against Southampton in their last Premier League game before the global break after Hazard scored his seventh goal in eight top flight outings.
