'Luke Cage' Cancelled: No Season 3 for Netflix Marvel Series

Heroes For Hire is another Marvel superhero team formed by none other than Luke Cage and Iron Fist - the two shows just cancelled by Netflix.

"Unfortunately, Marvel's Luke Cage will not return for a third season", Netflix and Marvel said in a joint statement per the Hollywood Reporter. Netflix unexpectedly pulled the plug on a third season today.

The third season had been being worked on for the past couple months, but due to "creative differences" and where the writer's were going with the storyline, Netflix is now canceling the series. The song, "King's Paradise", produced by Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad who are also the show's music supervisors, name drops Harlem greats like Malcolm X, Louis Armstrong, Lena Horne and the show's titular character Luke Cage. Just want to say thank you to Marvel, Netflix, the best Writer's room, cast, crew, the Midnight Hour, all those who graced the stage at Harlem's Paradise and the most incredible fan base in the world.

That would actually be similar to Luke Cage and Iron Fist's comic book publishing history.

"Luke Cage" had generally positive reviews for both seasons of the series under the direction of showrunner Cheo Coker and starring Mike Colter in the lead role.

Chaos erupts as caravan reaches Mexico border
Trump ran for president in 2016 on promises to toughen US immigration policies and build a wall along the USA border with Mexico. Before the caravan reached the border, President Trump warned the immigrants that he would send the military to intervene.

Trump threatens Mexico over migrant caravan
On Wednesday, an advance group of exhausted migrants reached Guatemala City where they took refuge in a church-sponsored shelter. Numerous migrants may chose to stay in countries along the route, though the Mexican government is already preparing a response.

The news comes just a week after Marvel fans were informed that Iron Fist would also not see a renewal. Like numerous Netflix and Marvel shows, it suffered from bloat, with more episodes than there perhaps needed to be.

Out of nowhere (though looking at the series' general reception, it's not THAT much of a surprise), Netflix have canned Luke Cage.

Netflix now has three remaining Marvel shows - Daredevil, Jessica Jones and The Punisher.

With the move, Netflix severs further ties with Marvel as the producer prepares to shift gears toward providing content for parent company Disney's yet to launch streaming services.
