Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho returns to his former home on Saturday seeking to stop the rot against a high-flying Chelsea team playing with a smile on their faces under Maurizio Sarri.

Having come from two goals down to beat Newcastle 3-2 before the global break, United again responded well to going behind following Antonio Rudiger's 21st-minute goal at Stamford Bridge.

"After we were 2-1 up we had possibilities to score the third goal, we were the best team, we were calm in control".

It was six minutes into second half stoppage time when Barkley scored to deny United a victory that would have eased the pressure surrounding their manager.

Sarri, who is yet to win a trophy in his management career, said: "You are talking about one of the best coaches in the world - and I'm not at the moment one of the best".

"I'm not annoyed with anything". Then the young fellow came and apologised and I told him I accepted. "We made a mistake", he said.

The Portuguese won three Premier League titles in two successful spells in charge of Chelsea, but has lost all three of his previous visits to Stamford Bridge as United manager without even scoring a goal.

"I did not get respect back from Chelsea but that is not my responsiblity". Mourinho, who accused Chelsea's fans of disrespecting him, also attempted to draw a line under the matter despite saying that Ianni's actions were down to a "bad education".

Jaguars trade for RB Carlos Hyde
He has missed all but two games this season and has two catches for 40 yards in the two games he has played in. Before being traded, he was the leading rusher for the Browns with 382 total yards and five touchdowns.

"But the reaction of the fans is up to them".

They evidently also irritated Sarri who was at pains to apologise to Mourinho himself.

Mourinho hailed Martial in the aftermath of the Frenchman's double at Stamford Bridge. "I have dealt with the situation immediately", the Italian said. "I will speak to him again tomorrow".

Manchester United and manager Jose Mourinho finally showed the passion that has been missing for much of this season in an explosive second half. "We defend mixed, so some players are in zones and some have individual opponents". They are doing well in the Champions League, so they have the opportunity to improve in the Premier League.

When Antonio Rudiger headed the hosts into the lead all three points looked likely, but Anthony Martial scored twice in the second half to nearly give United an unlikely victory before Barkley's dramatic late intervention.

Mourinho's plan was somewhat illegible in the first half.

"The team played very well". Mourinho reacted furiously, chasing Ianni done the tunnel and ultimately had to be retrained by stewards.

Under-fire Jose Mourinho had been on the verge of delivering the ideal response to his critics on Saturday with Manchester United closing in on a second consecutive comeback win, at the home of his old club Chelsea to boot.
