The five-time Ballon d'Or victor was forced off with a nasty arm injury just 17 minutes into the 4-1 win over Sevilla last night, with it later revealed by Barcelona that their talisman is facing around three weeks on the sidelines having suffered a "fracture of the radial bone in his right arm".

Barcelona have confirmed that Lionel Messi will be out of action for around three weeks after suffering an arm fracture in the side's 4-2 defeat of Sevilla.

He is therefore set to miss a Clasico for the first time since 2007 this coming Sunday, as well as the Champions League double-header against Inter Milan.

Pablo Sarabia finally broke Sevilla through with a goal in the 79th minute with a shot that deflected off Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet.

"Emotionally, we know when he is there, he gives us more confidence because he is the best in the world", Gerard Pique said.

The injury ruled him out of the "Clasico" against arch rivals Real Madrid on October 28.
