Michael Cohen Says Trump Repeatedly Made Racist Remarks

Feeling a need to clear his conscience following last week's synagogue massacre in Pittsburgh, and in the midst of his own legal troubles, President Trump's former personal lawyer Michael Cohen said in a recent interview that he recalled several instances in which his former boss used racist and anti-gay language during one-on-one conversations.

Meanwhile, Cohen also told the Vanity Fair that he wished he had resigned from his job with Trump earlier.

One time was when Trump and Cohen were reportedly discussing the number of people who attended presidential rallies. "[Trump] said to me, 'Name one country run by a black person that's not a shithole, ' and then he added, 'Name one city, '" Cohen recalled, a statement that echoed the president's alleged comments about African nations earlier this year. "Trump responded, 'That's because black people are too stupid to vote for me'".

But Cohen hopes that providing his accounts of Trump's casual racism could help change the minds of some on-the-fence voters to abandon their support of the president.

Cohen previously defended Trump, but their relationship fell apart as special counsel Robert Mueller began to take a closer look at the lawyer.

Now Cohen isn't the only former employee of the President claiming that he's racist.

This won't be the first time that Trump has been accused of insulting black people and African countries.

On the way from the airport to the hotel, Cohen says they passed through "what looked like a rougher neighborhood".

That's not all. During a conversation about The Apprentice, Cohen says Trump talked about his decision not to pick Kwame Jackson as the season one victor.

Rudolph Giuliani, the president's personal attorney, said there were no allegations of wrongdoing against the president in the Cohen case. "There's no way I can let this black f-- win", Trump said, according to Cohen.

Trump said it's because Jackson was African-American, and used a homophobic slur to describe him.

The White House did not respond to the magazine's request for comment on Cohen's accusations.

Cohen is scheduled to be sentenced in December.

He has pleaded guilty to tax evasion, bank fraud and campaign finance violations and also admitted he made hush-money payments to women at Mr Trump's direction.
