2 people die in Amazon facility after building partially collapses

A storm rolled through the area bringing down the 50-foot wall and forcing those in the building to evacuate, according to NBC News.

The fire department said the weather-related collapse happened at the Amazon Fulfillment Centre late Friday. They recovered the body of a second man on Saturday, Clark said.

Chief Roman Clark tells the Sun that a 15-metre wall collapsed today at the Amazon Fulfillment Centre as a storm hit the area.

Another person is unaccounted for.

Firefighters found the first victim on Friday night, but he was declared dead at the hospital.

No others are reported missing. "Our thoughts go out to all families impacted by this evening's severe weather".

The tornado blew off a section of the roof of what Amazon calls its Baltimore sortation center, near the city's eastern border in Dundalk.

"A squall line moved through the Baltimore area late Friday with locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds", said weather.com meteorologist Linda Lam. "Wind gusts of 30 to 40 miles per hour were measured in the area".
