I don't watch The Walking Dead anymore, but every time I saw an ad for "the final episodes of Rick Grimes" during Better Call Saul commercial breaks, I felt like I was basically absorbing the show through osmosis.

Rick Grimes' story isn't over yet, Andrew Lincoln is not yet done with the Walking Dead universe. The former Deputy Sheriff, who has been the heart and soul of this series over the past eight-and-a-half seasons is departing, and AMC have made sure to cash in on that fact.

Is Rick Grimes really dead and will Andrew Lincoln ever return to The Walking Dead after season nine.

Did anyone ask for a Walking Dead cinematic universe?

In a shocking movie, AMC confirmed the actor will continue playing the character for three feature-length, big-budget movies that will air on the network.

By making the unilateral decision to spare Negan, Rick upheld the values his late son, Carl, championed in order to build for the future, but created conflict within his group.

"But I miss it terribly and I miss the relationships and I miss the people". The timing in which Yeun shares this photo is quite touching given that Lincoln is finally having his swan song episode form The Walking Dead airing the same day.

Lincoln wanted to leave the series so he could spend more time with his family in England, and the films spawned from a conversation Lincoln had with Gimple, when he served as showrunner on The Walking Dead.

"There is more story to tell and we'll be telling it", said Scott M. Gimple, chief content officer for the show. "I know nothing! [Laughs.] There are lots of moving parts to this extraordinary franchise. We're going to introduce new characters and new situations", says Gimple.

"I thought the idea of a character that the audience knows and has lived with - and who has oscillated between psycho and father for nine years - to start in a completely different place, was a really interesting, insane place to begin", he explained.
