On Sunday, a judge ordered Ramos to remain in juvenile detention for the next 21 days until a further court order, WFTV reported.

A 15-year-old Florida boy has confessed to strangling his mom over a bad grade, authorities said.

Investigators said Ramos used a wheelbarrow to load the body of 46-year-old Gail Cleavenger into her van and drive her to the River City Church where he buried her under a fire pit.

Sgt. A.J. Pagliari, with the Sheriff's Major Case Unit, said at a press conference that the teen confessed to the crime after his two friends came clean, which led to them being charged with accessory to first-degree murder.

The two 17-year-old friends face multiple charges.

Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood argued that Ramos should be charged as an adult because he is a "soulless individual", and is one of the "top three sociopaths" he has ever met, WKMG reported.

In between the argument the mother had called father Danny Cleavenger - who was away on a business trip in Seattle - to tell him about the grade.

Detectives ultimately found Cleavenger's body in her burial site at River City Church in the early-morning hours Saturday.

The next morning, Ramos went to school and called police after he came home that afternoon to report that his mom was missing, the house had been ransacked and her van was still running in the driveway.

After burying the body eight inches deep, Ramos returned home and went to school, but left early in order to establish his alibi.

"He believed he was the smartest person in the room and he continued to tell us his theories of what he believed and why: what happened to his mom and where we should be focusing our attention", Chitwood said.

Friends say his mother was a loving woman whose last post on Facebook was a photo of her son when he was 6. The boy initially told deputies his mother was missing, but Chitwood said he later admitted killing her mother while she was sleeping. Dylan Ceglarek and Brian Porras allegedly helped Ramos cover up the crime by burying his mother, Gail Cleavenger.
