Iconic set from ‘Westworld,’ dozens of films burns in wildfire

The historic Western town area at Paramount Ranch in Agoura Hills, Calif., where productions including "Westworld" have shot, burned down Friday in the Woolsey fire, according to the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation area's Twitter feed.

Paramount Ranch, which served as a filming location for almost 500 films and television shows over the years, is the latest casualty of the wildfires that are now sweeping across California. Westworld season 3 has not yet started production.

The Agoura Hills set that was used in "Westworld" has been destroyed. This area's an active part of the whole incident and we can't access it'.

In a statement released via ET, HBO addressed the fire problem: 'Paramount Ranch was one of the locations that were used during seasons 1 and 2 of Westworld, in addition to the main location at Melody Ranch, Santa Clarita.

Over the years, Western Town has served as a backdrop on TV shows including Zane Grey Theater, Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, and, much more recently, Westworld; movies filmed at Paramount Ranch include The Cisco Kid, The Great Outdoors, The Love Bug, The Texan, and Sutter's Gold.

The set of HBO's Westworld has burned down in flames in the midst of the SoCal wildfire tearing through the homes and towns of California this week. The network said that the show, which has been renewed for a third season, wasn't in production and that it doesn't yet know the extent of the damage, according to the news agency.

HBO told The Wrap that no cast or crew was at the Paramount Ranch location when it burned down.

Evacuation in Malibu, Calabasas and Agoura areas began on Thursday, as a 200-acre wildfire started to rapidly spread. Most importantly, our thoughts go out to all those affected by these terrible fires.
