The National Weather Service now predicts heavy winds throughout Friday morning could potentially help spread the blaze.

More than 400 firefighters from Ventura County, Los Angeles County, the City of Los Angeles and Cal Fire were battling the brush fire. This isn't the first time a natural disaster threatened her home.

Camp Fire has already reached Chico, home to 90,000 people, about 20 miles of west of Paradise and 90 miles north of Sacramento. Drought and wind conditions have given California a ideal "recipe for fire", said Chad Cook, the Ventura County Fire Department assistant chief.

With the area still reeling from the shooting at the Thousand Oaks bar, the Hill fire has spread to 10,000 acres, quickly shutting down the 101 Freeway.

Residents posted on social media to share their views of the flames almost consuming the hillside in the Newbury Park area of western Thousand Oaks.

The fire erupted Thursday northwest of Los Angeles and has been swept southward toward the ocean by strong Santa Ana winds.

Driven by 50 to 60 miles per hour wind gusts the brush fire is zero percent contained and also jumped Highway 101 near Chesebro Road in Agoura Hills on Friday morning. According to Esri, it should be updated soon with pins for the Camp Fire and the fires in Los Angeles, both of which just broke out yesterday.

Winds were expected to weaken Friday afternoon into Saturday.
