Game of Thrones season eight officially has a premiere date, promising that winter is coming in spring 2019.

HBO, in a Tuesday morning tweet, announced that Game of Thrones will begin its final season in April 2019, teasing fans with a 30-second compilation of clips from previous seasons. Now in a new teaser for the series finale, it's confirmed the end will begin in April 2019, which sounds like the ideal time of year for a winter apocalypse.

To promote the final episodes, HBO will launch #FortheThrone, "a multi-phased, global marketing campaign that will unfold over the months leading into the final season".
