Miley Cyrus feels devastated after losing home in California wildfires

It's now California's most destructive wildfire in terms of structures destroyed, and is one of the state's deadliest blazes ever.

Authorities searched on Monday for more than 200 people unaccounted for in one of the wildfires rampaging through parts of California, voicing concern about a possible rising death toll, as gusty, dry winds spurred the spreading flames.

A fire that starts late July near the city of Redding in northern California rages for six weeks and claims the lives of eight people, three of them firefighters.

With the devastation and loss of life in the Northern California fire, "it's evident from that situation statewide that we're in climate change and it's going to be here for the foreseeable future", he said. "Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!"

"It's not about forest management".

"We are sorry to share the news that the #WoolseyFire has burned Western Town at #ParamountRanch in Agoura", they tweeted.

In addition, NASA's own Terra satellite captured an image of the Camp Fire's plume, in a wide shot including a view of the Hill and Woolsey fires in Southern California.

The comment was rebuked by political leaders in California, as well as by the spokesmen for the global and state firefighters' unions. Around 150,000 California residents are under an evacuation order. The Woolsey Fire in Southern California has destroyed 85,000 acres.

A lull Saturday gave firefighters a chance to gain ground but the winds returned Sunday, stoking the fire again.

The president of the California Professional Firefighters said the message is an attack on some of the people fighting the devastating fires.

Los Angeles County Fire Chief Daryl Osby stressed there were numerous hotspots and plenty of fuel that had not yet burned, but at sunset he said there had been huge successes despite "a very challenging day".

Cowley was back at the property Monday and expressed gratitude at finding most of the 65 structures on it still standing, just a few hundred feet from the crime scene where investigators worked to determine what had happened to spark the massive fire.

"Again, I have the very, very unfortunate and sad duty of reporting to you the number of fatalities that we now have confirmed", Honea said.

Other celebrities such as Will Smith and the Kardashians have been affected. In other sections of the highway, brush was scorched on both sides and power lines and burned fence posts were down where just a couple of days ago the fire had jumped the roadway and run up to the beach.

Actor Leonardo DiCaprio also weighed in, blaming the fires on climate change. "Helping victims and fire relief efforts in our state should not be a partisan issue".

Trump has criticized the California government in Tweets this weekend, blaming poor forest management for the infernos.

Authorities were also bringing in a DNA lab and said officials would reach out to relatives who had registered their missing loved ones to aid in identifying the dead after the blaze destroyed more than 6,700 buildings, almost all of them homes. "God Bless them all".
