Martial, Pogba, Lacazette latest injuries in France squad | AP sports

The Arsenal forward had been called-up to cover for the injured Anthony Martial but will now not feature against Netherlands and Uruguay.

Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette has earned a long-awaited return to the France national team after a year out of the squad.

Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba have withdrawn from the France squad through injury - despite meeting up with their global team-mates at Clairefontaine on Monday.

"This decision was taken after an exchange between Dr. Franck Le Gall and his counterparts at Arsenal", a statement on Twitter read on Monday.

Alassane Plea, who has scored eight goals in the Bundesliga for Borussia Monchengladbach this season, has been called up instead.

The newspaper says the 27-year-old doesn't want to make the injury worse by playing for France during their upcoming Nations League group stage game with Holland or their friendly with Uruguay next week.
