Users simply create a "Close Friends" list and then choose to only share certain stories with that group of people. In this case, a green badge will appear on that person's story indicating they've chosen you as a "close friend".

Instagram Stories are great for quickly sharing what's going on in your life - but sometimes you don't want all your followers to see them. In any case, it's a new way to identify your inner circle, while also seeing how close - or not - others feel to you. Instagram will suggest those you interact with the most. After setting it up, when you share a Story, you'll have the option to send it to all your followers, or just your smaller Close Friends list. It starts rolling out to users Friday. If you tap on it, only the people on your Close friends list will be able to see the post, while the rest of your followers will be blissfully unaware.
