Pistons pummel Warriors to win 5th straight, Raptors roll on

The Warriors won the war Saturday, but they lost the battle.

Curry, who had not played since a November 8 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks when he suffered the injury, scored 27 points, grabbed five rebounds, made three assists and had seven turnovers in nearly 37 minutes during Saturday's 111-102 loss to the Detroit Pistons.

The battle, of course, is what came afterward. He had 27 points on 10/21 shooting but was just 3/9 on threes.

Kerr, who has three championships in his first four seasons as Warriors coach, said he did not like the Warriors' spacing and some of the combinations he used.

The Atlanta Hawks will play the Golden State Warriors on Monday night, though the game will have a far different timbre to it than the team's previous meeting on November 13th in Oakland.

Curry's first half marksmanship may have been off, but his assessment of it was spot on. After a slow start to the season, Thompson's lit it up as of late.

Detroit led by as many as 11 points in the second and led 54-46 at halftime.

Markieff Morris rebounded from a 1-for-10 shooting night Friday in a loss at Philadelphia to score 20 points on 9-for-12 shooting. "But in the first half I was going 100 miles per hour without my timing being back". I didn't really force much, it was just the timing was off.

The Warriors' straw that stirs the drink turned things around in the second half, however.

VanVleet, who started in place of Lowry, drained consecutive clutch three-pointers with just over two minutes left in the fourth to pad the Raptors lead to 10 points. Obviously seen some shots go down.

"I feel great. The coaching staff has done a good job of making me feel comfortable out there", said Leonard, who joined the Raptors this season via a trade from the San Antonio Spurs. Kerr echoed a similar sentiment.

"It felt good to be back out there", Curry said after the game.

The Warriors' coach was far more critical when it came to assessing his own performance in the defeat. We've gotta get better shots.

Kerr was disappointed in himself after the game, calling it one of his worst performances as a coach, and he did not like the way his offense was running. "We've got to get more spacing, get better flow". It's not about one player, everybody's got to do their job whether it's screening, spacing, passing the ball, defending, whatever it is just to make sure you do your job on each possession.

Over 11 games, the Pistons play eight teams that are no worse than even money to be in the playoffs, so grabbing any win over that span will be important.
