Jon Rahm shot a nine-under-par 63 to share the lead with Henrik Stenson at the halfway mark of the Hero World Challenge on Friday while Tiger Woods' round came undone at the last where he avoided a penalty for a double hit but still carded a double-bogey.

And now this Sunday, Rahm round off 2018 with yet another incredible year.

"I can say that ball-striking-wise it's pretty much where I want it to be", a satisfied Rahm told Golf Channel.

Woods finished second-last in the 18-man field at the World Challenge, an unofficial event he hosts at Albany on the island of New Providence.

Finau, meanwhile, cracked the top 10 for the first time in his career at No. 9.

"Hosting the event and trying to play well, I haven't done a very good job of playing well but it was nice to finish off on that back nine and actually do something positive", he said after picking up four birdies over the final nine holes.

Relieved defending champion Cameron Smith held off a final round charge from close friend Marc Leishman to win the Australian PGA Championship by two strokes on Sunday.

Finau did everything right except win this year, including his first Ryder Cup appearance.

Smith finished at 16-under-par for the tournament after a final round 70. But the knock-on implications meant that Rose was denied the chance of taking back the World No.1 spot from Brooks Koepka, who opted not to play in the Bahamas. The victory Sunday enables him to crack the top 30. "I haven't played a lot of golf, though".
