Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, has gone to Los Angeles this week and says he is hoping to talk about an April date between his fighter and Wilder. Fury got up quickly and rallied to almost winning back the round as Wilder appeared as if he might've punched himself out going for the finish.

"Listen 100 per cent we'll do the rematch, but we're going to go away, recalculate, see what's going to happen, get back together".

With his fighter's reputation enhanced, Warren told Press Association Sport: "You'd think they'd want the rematch".

However, the fight never materialised, and Wilder took on Fury in Los Angeles instead.

"But I didn't see any folding, Ben".

However, rather than the rematch the boxing world would undoubtedly love to see, Wilder's team have indicated they have a heavyweight unification bout with Anthony Joshua in their sights.

He added: "If everything is in the paper, I have no desire to discuss anything and let him go fight who he wants".
