Danvers is then seen walking with some of her fellow Kree heroes, and it's clear that this Earthling is not like others. A second trailer for Captain Marvel has hit the Internet airways, and the reaction on Twitter proves that fans are ready for this film.

The film will debut in theaters on March 8, 2019. "Set in the 1990s, Captain Marvel is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe". We also know that Jude Law is there, and that all the Top Gun tributes are intact.

And it wasn't long before Larson's character, Carol Danvers, brought some hurt. She meets a young Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson with two eyes), an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D, who calls her a renegade soldier. "Skrulls are the bad guys".

Danvers is haunted by flashes of her past life on Earth and a sense of duty to protect the planet. Should Goose think Fury is threatening or hurting Carol, she might attack. Viewers of Guardians of the Galaxy will be familiar with that race since the antagonist in that movie, Ronan the Accuser is one.

In the comic books, Carol Danvers gets her powers, including the ability to fly and manipulate energy, when the Psyche-Magnitron, a Kree wishing machine, explodes. In the comics, the cat has an encounter with Rocket Raccoon, who tries to stop the Flerken from laying eggs but fails as they are produced in a gooey hive all around the Captain Marvel ship. And she's got a formidable enemy in the form of the Skrulls - the notorious Marvel baddies made all the more risky by their shape-shifting abilities.
