Sheriff says missing Wisconsin teen Jayme Closs has been found alive

A Facebook post from the Barron County Sheriff's Department says the investigation is not related to Jayme Closs, the teen missing from Barron County.

"We want to thank the Douglas Co Sheriff's Department and agencies assisting them tonight".

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office posted on their Facebook page late Thursday thanking "the citizen who phoned in the information".

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office confirms that Barron County missing person JAYME CLOSS was located alive in the Town of Gordon in Douglas County at 4:43pm and a suspect was taken into custody at 4:54pm, also in the Town of Gordon.

Robert Naiberg said that nothing seemed amiss at the gathering, and that Jayme was "quiet as always". "We do believe Jayme was home at the time the call was made".

Barron Mayor Ron Fladten said Thursday night (local time) he hadn't heard any details about Jayme's discovery yet but was overjoyed at learning she is alive.

Authorities at the home of James and Denise Closs, found dead on Monday in Barron, Wisconsin.

Jayme Closs, whose parents, aged 56 and 46, were discovered shot in their family home a year ago, was located on Thursday evening, police said.

Nobody in the family has seen Closs yet and she is still with law enforcement. Officials then announced they have found Closs, approximately three hours later.

Shortly after Closs was found, a suspect was taken into custody.

Jayme Closs, the 13-year-old Wisconsin girl who was declared "missing and endangered" after her parents were found dead in their home in October has been found. "From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU!"

On Oct. 15, officers responding to a 911 call for help arrived at the home of James, 56, and Denise Closs, 46. She said the family is focused on supporting Jayme.

There were days when it was hard to hold onto hope, he said.
