Trump will "probably" declare national emergency absent a deal in Congress

President Donald Trump claimed Thursday that while he repeatedly said during his campaign and after gaining the White House that Mexico would pay for his proposed border wall, he "never meant they're going to write out a check".

President Donald Trump plans to visit a border patrol station and a section of the border during his visit Thursday to McAllen, Texas. He is seeking to use the trip to bolster his argument that a wall is needed on security and humanitarian grounds. Trump wants $5.7 billion from Congress to fund his wall along the southern border with Mexico. Critics say Trump overstates the security risks and that the administration is at least partly to blame for the humanitarian situation.

Prospects for any kind of a deal appear even dimmer after Trump declared on Wednesday that a meeting with Schumer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to discuss the shutdown was "a total waste of time". "I said bye-bye, nothing else works!"

With typical rhetorical flourishes, Trump said that only building more walls along the Mexican border could stop an onslaught of violent crime.

The president also said he will not go to the global conference in Davos, Switzerland, later this month if the shutdown continues.

However, patience with the shutdown is wearing thin as 800,000 federal employees are left unpaid, government contractors are losing money, and people who rely on public services are left waiting for everything to reopen when a bipartisan deal is eventually done.

Cristiano Ronaldo to submit DNA in Vegas rape case
Italian authorities will serve the warrant and collect DNA from Ronaldo, then send it back to Las Vegas to be tested. According to her lawsuit, Mayorga reported the assault to police later that day and received a medical examination.

The proposal mirrored a measure the Senate rejected past year after opposition from the White House and senior adviser Stephen Miller.

"Again, we saw a temper tantrum because he couldn't get his way", Schumer said.

Most recently, Trump walked out of a meeting with Congress members and is considering declaring a national emergency to get the wall built if lawmakers won't approve the necessary funds, according to the New York Times.

Trump disputed that on Thursday, saying "I didn't pound the table". I said they're going to pay for the wall. Things could only get worse on Saturday, when news outlets and television networks will be able to declare this the longest continuous shutdown in United States history.

"I think we should do it legislatively", Jordan told reporters, "because if [Trump] goes the emergency route, I'm convinced it's going to wind up in court".

"Everyone has the right to emigrate, to seek a new future". "The Opposition Party & the Dems know we must have Strong Border Security, but don't want to give "Trump" another one of many wins!"
