Philippe Coutinho has emerged as a surprise rumoured Manchester United target in the January transfer window after he has failed to make the impact he would have liked at Barcelona, with Spanish papers reporting the interest in recent days.

However, the situation surrounding Philippe Coutinho continues to remain a concern for Barcelona.

The Brazil worldwide has been left out of the starting XI in each of Barcelona's last four games, and is believed to be growing increasingly unhappy with his marginalised role. He was on target in the Copa del Rey in midweek but that was his first goal since October.

Marcelo Biesla takes responsibility for Leeds United spy at Derby County training
Derbyshire Police confirmed on Friday that "a man was found at the perimeter fence of Moor Farm and was spoken to". Not only Marcelo, all the managers were like this", he said. "It is not a big issue or a big deal".

Coutinho is unsurprisingly disappointed with how things are going.

Coutinho is willing to wait out the current troublesome spell, the report adds, and will not look to give up his dream of becoming a Barca success story just yet. But already the player's future is in doubt after the latest report suggests he could now be moved on in the summer. "It would be different if we hadn't believed in him [and let him leave] and now we wanted to bring him back, but that's not the case". It would be a huge deal if United can pull it off to take a former Liverpool star to Old Trafford. The Italian outlet has reported that Barcelona will "listen" to offers for Coutinho, but will likely not settle for less than the amount they paid to secure his transfer.

Liverpool FC have reached the Champions League final and risen to the top of the Premier League table since Coutinho's departure in 2018. Also the Red Devils are yet to announce who the next manager will be and before signing the Brazilian they should get a nod from the boss. So there seems no reason to buy an attacking player.
